Inspired by the Japanese tea ceremony, I created a tea table designed and adapted for UK city living.
In traditional tea ceremonies everything is done for the wellbeing and enjoyment of the guest. Tea ceremonies are seen as a spiritual process, with participants seeking harmony and inner peace.
I wanted to create a piece of furniture that could have the same effect as the tea ceremony on its users. Designed to be suitable for small space city living it has underneath storage for two pillows for sitting on, so that the table can be enjoyed with company or used individually as a working space.
It is made from sandblasted Douglas fir wood and a bamboo set in bio-resin top.
